Getting started with SellerLibrary: five steps from invite to first listing

SellerLibrary2 min read

From opening your account with an invitation to connecting your eBay store, installing the extension, your first research and your first listing published with your approval: each step with the screen it happens on.

Your first day with SellerLibrary has five steps. None of them asks you to share a password, and no listing goes live without your approval.

1. Open your account with an invitation

Sign-up is by invitation for now. The link in your invitation email brings you to the sign-up screen, where you write your name and password and accept the terms of use. Once you verify your email address, your workspace opens. If you don't have an invitation yet, you can apply for early access.

2. Connect your eBay store

When you start the store connection in Settings, eBay's own permission screen opens; you give the permission there and SellerLibrary never sees your password. If your package allows it you can connect more than one store; each store's policies and location are kept apart.

3. Install and connect the Chrome extension

  • Install the extension from the Chrome Web Store.
  • In SellerLibrary, get a one-time code under Settings → Chrome extension.
  • Paste the code into the extension; it connects to your account.

Store scans, the Amazon search and ASIN collection run through the extension, and the computer and Chrome must be open meanwhile. What it reads is on the extension page.

4. Do your first research

Type an eBay seller name into Store Research; the extension brings in the store's listings and sales history, ranked by units sold. Add the ones you like to your candidates. Single-product and category research work without the extension. More on the Store research page.

5. Match, prepare, publish with your approval

  • Review the candidate's Amazon counterpart and its scored reasons, and approve it.
  • Complete the title, item specifics, photos and price in the Listing Studio; the quality score shows what's missing.
  • Check eBay's fee preview and your monthly new-listing allowance left, then press publish.

After publishing you can turn on source tracking; we explain the two ways to track in a separate post. Every step is in the user guide.

Common questions

Can I start without the extension?

Yes. Single-product and category research, listing preparation and publishing work without it. Store scans and the Amazon search need the extension.

Does my first listing use my monthly allowance?

Yes; each new listing that goes live uses one of the monthly new-listing allowance. Drafts and research don't.
